Wales Branch Constitution

The first three clauses of the Celtic Congress Wales Branch Constitution outline the nature of our organisation.

1. Name
"The Celtic Congress Wales Branch”

2. Aims
The aims of the Society will be:
a) To promote awareness and to educate the citizens of Wales and the wider world regarding present-day Wales, the history of Wales, the Welsh language and the culture arising from the language.
b) To promote awareness and disseminate information regarding the present state, history, languages and cultures of the modern Celtic countries, namely Scotland, Cornwall, Wales, Ireland, Brittany and the Isle of Man.
c) To support, to cooperate and to socialise with the sister branches in the five other Celtic countries under the rules jointly agreed by the six national branches.
ch) To hold an International Celtic conference once every 6 years according to a rota agreed with the International Celtic Congress Committee.

3. Principles
The Society shall not be part of, nor contribute to, any political party or religious denomination.

South East Wales Sub-branch

In keeping with paragraph 2a of the Constitution the South East Wales Sub-Branch has for a number of years run conversation groups for those wishing to use and improve their Welsh. Breton lessons began in September 2015.
